How to create setup performing all the required actions from the source code

Nov 9, 2010 at 2:02 PM

I want to use the latest version (v1.4.0) of this adapter for the BizTalk Server 2006 R2. So I have done the following steps

1. downloaded the code for Blogical.Shared.Adapters.SFTP v1.4.0

2. Recreated all the projects in Visual Studio 2005 with same name and namespaces with all the refernces poiniting to BizTalk server 2006 R2 assemblies.

But the setup which get created only install the assemblies. It doen't do the other required steps, as a result I am not able to add this adapter using the BizTalk MMC. What other steps are required to install this adapter.

Why are you re-creating the projects in VS2005? Why don't you use the MSI instead?

Do you want to say that the MSI of Blogical.Shared.Adapters.SFTP v1.4.0 will work with BizTalk Server 2006 R2. I was trying to recreate the setup because I want to use the Blogical.Shared.Adapters.SFTP v1.4.0 adapter with BizTalk Server 2006 R2.

I can't see why it shouldn't work, it's compiled for .net 2.0. However there is a BizTalk project with property schemas, which might be built for 3.5. However, this is only used for Dynamic Send ports. If you plan to use dynamic send ports, rebuild only the BizTalk project for 2.0 (vs2005).

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks Mikael, version 1.4.0 is working fine for BizTalk Server 2006 R2. Right now, I don't need to use the dynamic send port so I have not deployed the schemas to BizTalk.
